The constitution has been formed by Shia religious scholars and under the general guidelines of Ayatollah Khomeini. In general IRI as a political system has been a major, unique and unprecedented example of Shia political philosophy in practice. Hence its importance and relevance to a discussion about Shia political/social philosophy.
